Debbie DeKroon, M.A., Reg. CASLPO

Speech-Language Pathologist

For over 30 years, Debbie has been bringing warmth, creativity, play time and lots of laughter to her work with children and their families. Debbie recognizes that every child and family has unique and diverse needs, and that therapy must be integrated with real life. By inviting parents, siblings, grandparents and other caregivers to participate in treatment sessions, Debbie ensures that everyone understands what and how to practice outside of the therapy room. This helps children to use new skills in everyday life.

As a seasoned professional, Debbie brings a wide range of knowledge and experience gained through working with children in multidisciplinary treatment centres and schools. She has years of experience working in the areas of motor speech, phonology, language, literacy and social communication, as well as autism and other developmental and genetic disorders.

In addition to her practice, Debbie has enjoyed teaching and supervising students in the Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) program at Durham College. Debbie is currently expanding her team to include experienced and caring CDAs, so that more children can gain timely access to the services that they need.
